Advantage Vols

With an assist from Regal Entertainment, the Lady Vols score an impressive new soccer stadium

According to Joan Cronan, the University of Tennessee women’s athletic director, the Lady Vols’ new soccer facility will allow us to “compete for national championships every season.” An array of features underscores this lively vision: a 3,000- seat stadium, two 80- by 120-yard Bermuda grass fields, press boxes, home and visitor locker rooms, training areas, and a state-of-the-art scoreboard, all operating parts of the Regal Stadium complex on Neyland Drive near a sweeping bend in the Tennessee River.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Angela Kelly, who came to UT in 2000, the Lady Vol soccer team has compiled an impressive record of 117-48-14 against a challenging roster of NCAA competitors. “With our new stadium, we’ll continue to compete at the national level and have opportunities to host SEC and NCAA tournaments,” she says.

“In order for all our athletic programs to continue to attract national recruits, it is imperative that we not only compete with, but surpass, our opponents,” Cronan stresses. “With that kind of focus at UT, it’s been a pleasure to work with Mike Campbell and Greg Dunn of Regal Entertainment.”

Thanks to the longtime interest and generosity of the Regal Group—Knoxville-based UT supporters—more fans can now enjoy, up close and personal, one of America’s fastest growing sports and one of UT’s most athletic and energetic teams.
